Don't get too bummed about the mid section. Everyone burns differently, and you can't tell your body where it's supposed to burn. But have no fear, it'll come off... I promise. :D As far as water intake, what I found that REALLY helped, especially starting off was a water bottle from Sports Authority called the Hydracoach. It has a digital counter of water intake, and it kind of turns into a game (and helps you meter your water so you're not going to the bathroom every 5 minutes). It's about $20, and next to THF, the best investment I made. Its also a great conversation starter.
