I never thought of myself as a role model...

I started up with THF the second time around, not to trim up, but because I just didn't feel healthy. "Bad foods" taste great while you're eating, but for me at least, it didn't feel good afterwards. The guilt of gaining weight and buying increasingly larger pants didn't feel good either. Unfortunately for me, I've battled digestive issues and weight gain ever since gallbladder surgery. So it's been a tough road for me.

I had excellent results the first time around. I fell off of it because, we… Continue

Scheduled eating

I don't know if anyone else lives in front of a computer like I do... Sometimes I get into the groove of something and I lose track of time...but I've found a couple of online tools that have really helped me out as far as eating on schedule.

I found that using a watch with an alarm helps when I'm away from my computer, but sometimes it's not convenient to set it (or, I forget!). There is freeware download called Cool Timer 3.6 that I use at work, that will set a visual and/or sound reminder at… Continue

Hiking it up...

I have some good news, and some bad news...

The good news is, I'm trimming up! I'm quite pleased with how lean I am starting to get, to and for the first time in a LONG time, I feel awesome. A lot of maladies such as tiredness, poor sleep, problems with digestion, headaches, etc are virtually eliminated (no pun intended). Psychologically I'm doing better than ever too. It's empowering to say "I can do it!" and get a return result on your body. No more grumpus.... I think the world would be a be… Continue

It's crazy how powerful the mind is...

One of the most memorable conversations I had was with a friend of mine, who is an avid downhill mountain biker. His comment was geared towards downhill racing, but I think that definately applies to diet and fitness: "Look at where you want to be, not the obstacle right in front of you. If you think about it too much, you're destined to fall. The defining line of being mediocre versus great is how much you let your mind interfere with what you are doing. But if you do fall, get back up and try… Continue

You can't put life on hold...

Why is it when you make the commitment to eat right and exercise in the hopes to become lean and healthy, all the sudden activities involving food/alcohol come up?

I've been through this program before, and had dramatic results. I actually enjoy the healthy lifestyle, and look forward to being able to have the health and body that I deserve. I restarted the program after I had fallen back to bad habits. I look at it now and I have to ask myself why it's so hard to do something that feels so goo… Continue
